The Jeonju Tax Office (Director: Ryu Hyo-seok) held a “Taxpayer’s Day” event on the 5th in the main auditorium to express appreciation for sincere tax payments and cooperation with tax administration, and to promote sound tax awareness through various outreach activities.
On this day, Park Jin-sang, Chairman of Hyosarang Jeonju Nursing Hospital, was appointed as the honorary Tax Office Director for a day, and Professor Oh Hee-hwa of Jeonju University was appointed as the honorary Head of the Civil Service Office for a day. The program provided them with an opportunity to experience frontline tax administration services and broaden their understanding of taxation.
In addition, a tax briefing session was held for award recipients and invited guests, and special events for visitors were organized, including guidance on preferential policies for exemplary taxpayers.
To move away from the rigid and formal image often associated with tax offices and present a more friendly approach, the office prepared special gifts such as ₩10,000 cultural gift certificates and flowers, which were presented to visitors.
The Jeonju Tax Office also plans to upload photos of award-winning exemplary taxpayers and companies on the National Tax Service and the local tax office website (http://g.nts.go.kr/jj/), fostering a social atmosphere in which exemplary taxpayers are respected and take pride in their contributions.
Furthermore, to encourage students—future taxpayers—to develop an interest in taxes and establish a proper understanding from an early stage, a “Tax Awareness Week” event will be held.
In celebration of Taxpayer’s Day, within the jurisdiction of the Jeonju Tax Office, a total of 12 exemplary taxpayers received awards. Oditech Co., Ltd. (CEO Park Byung-geun) received the Industrial Service Medal, Coilmaster Co., Ltd. (CEO Cha Kwon-mook) received a commendation from the Minister of Economy and Finance, and Hanjo Industry Co., Ltd. (CEO Han Eui-jo) received a commendation from the Commissioner of the National Tax Service.
