Small power inductors mass-produce

Ceratech, Abco, and Coilmaster are working on mass production of small power inductors.

According to related industries on the 20th, Ceratech (CEO Heo Sang http://www.ceratech.co.kr)) will mass-produce stacked chip power inductors for DC-DC converters for 3,225 or less, which are used in mobile phones, laptops and PC・MP3 players, starting next month. The company explained that this product is a self-Patent technology that implements a power inductor, which has been manufactured only in a winding type, in a stacked type that is advantageous for automation, mass production and miniaturization, and has thinner thickness than existing products and equal performance. An official of the company said, "We expect to replace the import of the power inductor. We are additionally developing ultra-small products and specialized products according to customer needs."

Abco (CEO Lee Jong-man http://www.abco.co.kr)) recently started mass-production and sales of 3010 power inductors used in DMB and digital tuners, and aims to increase the power inductor to its main business by selling 1.5 million units and 3 billion won in sales this year.

Coilmaster (CEO Cha Kwon-mook www.coilmaster.com)) has also developed a large current power inductor with space reduction and EMI reduction by integrating coil and magnetic substance, and is mass-producing and selling it to laptop PC・PDA companies.

Power inductors are a key component of the DC-DC converter, which compensates for battery voltage fluctuations in power configuration circuits of mobile devices such as mobile phones, digital cameras, and laptop PCs, and maintains a constant voltage. The domestic market demand is estimated to be 10 million units per month, and demand is expected to increase due to the high performance of mobile devices.
